there are times in life when i try to do it all. i want to accomplish everything. i think i am wonder woman. in fact, majority of my days are spent this way. thing is....after countless days of living this fast pace, non-stop, long lists kind of life, i reach an end. and what have i got to show for it? not much more than a let-down. i begin to focus on all of the things that i didn't complete/accomplish/reach/finish. i break.
the beauty in a break....coming back to the realization that i can't do it all. i may want to, i may believe i should be able to, i may try really hard to, but i just can't. at least alone.
my Lord is an ever present help in my time of need. he completes the tasks that i couldn't, he serves the individuals that i didn't get too, he checks of the list that i simply couldn't accomplish. all of it.
the reminders that i return to are bulleted as follows:
- "I can do ALL things through Christ, who give me strength" Philippians 4:13
- “If you believe, you will get anything you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22
- God wants you to fly. Free of yesterday’s guilt, free of today’s fear, free of tomorrow’s grave. These are the mountains he has moved. These are the prayers he will answer.
- "the way we pass through a time of pain can be the loudest sermon anyone could ever preach"
- John 16:33: “ These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulations, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
-“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”- 2 Thessalonians 3:3
-I praise you because I am fearfully & wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14
-The things of this world are always fleeting and failing, the things of His world aren't
-Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" Ephesians 4:24
*I don't want to spend my whole life asking "what if I had given everything instead of going through the motions"
I challenge you to wake up and ask yourself these two questions before you start your day:
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
And if our God is for us then who could ever stop us?
And if our God is with us then what can stand against?
